teams consisting of 10 or 20 participants paddle a boat in unison to race against other teams. Each team also has a drummer, responsible for maintaining tempo of a boat, and a steersperson, responsible for guiding the boat during races. Its an exciting sport that anyone can pick up, yet is very hard to master. Additionally, it is currently one of the fastest growing water sports globally, and was recently demonstrated as an Olympic sport! In recent years, dragon boat has gotten increasingly popular at the collegiate level, with many univerisites hosting their own teams. This raise in populariy of collegiate dragonboat is what led to the eventual creation of our team, San Jose Dragon Boat.
